>Future joint events with other engineering related clubs such as ACM, BMES, IEEE, SHIP, NSBE...etc to get in touch with people in your major or to simply explore
>National SWE Conference in Hawaii (Feb. 29- Mar.3 2012)
Open to all members
Fundraising money will go towards this event so that we can as many people from the UCSC SWE chapter who are interested

Prices for members vs. non-members:
$8 for national SWE members
$9 for SWE members
$10 for non-members
>For new people who are interested in SWE there are different types memberships available each its own perks:
- Club membership - Just come to the meetings, simple as that. You will get the opportunity to help plan activities and join in on SWE events. Get the scoop on classes etc.
- National SWE membership.

will pay your UHL (undergraduate hardware labs) fee. The national SWE membership also gives you access to job opportunities, conferences, webinars, talks and
many more benefits that I can't quite think of.

>SWE Field Trip to the Computer History Museum
- We will be planning this event to happen in the next couple of weeks. Stay tuned!
> Kick off event of Fall Quarter: Smash Old Electronics Event
Here we'll learn:
- To identify valuable components in old electronics
- To dispose old electronics in a environmentally friendly way
- To demolish them
> New big event for SWE this year: Mr.Engineering Pageant for winter quarter

> Dean's Council Advisory Meeting
If anyone has encountered any problems or complaints with scheduling/logistics with any classes/professors and want something to change send an email to:
sweslugs@ucsc.edu This meeting is a great opportunity for us to get our voices get heard directly to the dean.

We have a new Facebook page called: UCSC SWE were we will update events taking place.
Also if you're a undergraduate SOE (Science of Engineering) major, feel free to add yourself to the Facebook group called U.grads of SOE to get advice on
classes/professors from peers
We are thinking about putting a SWE forum so that we can all ask each other questions

If you're on the hunt for an internship or job you should join the ugrad jobs mailing list to see all the companies hiring.
