E-week (Engineering Week):

- The purpose of this event is for all the engineering clubs to let other students know about what the clubs are doing and to get involved 
- Dates: February 20th-24th
- We plan on selling baked goods everyday of E-week:
           > Muffins
           > Cookies (Chocolate chip, Oatmeal)
           > Millionaire's Shortbread
           > Smores-Chocolate Sandwich
           > Coconut Mochi
           > Note: Whoever plans on making baked goods for fundraising, SWE will reimburse you, so please keep a record of the receipt of the ingredients

- As a club we plan on making circuit jewelry as an event between members then sell them. Everyone is welcomed and gets a chance to learn about soldering!  
      Proposed dates and times:
            > Tuesday 7th February 2pm-3pm **(Please note: Next week's meeting will be in EE Lab in Jack's Lounge)
            > Tuesday 7th February 6pm-7pm
            > Monday 13th February 3:30pm-5pm
            > Tuesday 14th February 2pm-3pm

"SWE's Engineering Contest" Planning:

- Official date: Friday, February 24th @6pm
- Prizes have been generously donated from the following:
          > Blizzard
          > EMC          
          > Google
          > Microsoft
          > Check out our SWE Facebook page for upcoming prizes: http://www.facebook.com/groups/2201021904/

- Contests:   

         1.) Trivia Questions
         2.) Puzzle Questions (ex. sample Google interview questions)
         3.) Rubiks cube challenge (?)
         4.) Soldering contest (?)

- Open to ALL engineering students (Undergrads &TAs)
    
     > Teams of up to 3 can participate
         > Start advertising to find potential contestants, so ask your friends if they would like to join!

               - Making posters/flyers ([1.] Finding contestants & [2.] Spreading the word about the event)
               - Facebook event invite (post in SWE FB page, and Ugrads of SOE FB page)
               - During E-week show the prizes that the contestants can potentially win
            
MESA Volunteers Needed:

- MESA stands for 'Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement' and this organization's goal is to "encourage students [middle school and high school]—especially those from undeserved populations—to learn about math, engineering, and science in new and exciting ways." http://mesa.csufresno.edu/index.shtml

- Date: Saturday, March 3rd

- MESA will be holding an event at UCSC and need volunteers to judge projects (such as balsa bridges or mousetrap race cars) and greet the students around the campus

Topics for next week's SWE meeting:


- Making circuit jewelry @ 2pm EE Lab in Jack's Lounge!!


- Finalize club t-shirts: The slogan many members liked was "Being the change we want to see"
        - A mock version will be displayed next week

- Compile questions/puzzles for trivia portion of SWE's Engineering Contest
